Question by No Chance Without a Kiss: Psychiatric ward prefers alcoholic patients to real mentally ill?
Isn’t it easier to treat the alcoholics, they’re pretty “normal” people just trying to stop drinking. Makes life easier for the doctors and nurses, and everybody knows, many people will take the easy option when given the choice, doesn’t matter to them, as long as they cash their pay check at the end of the week.
“There is a “psychiatric ward” and then there’s “rehabilitation centers”. They are two completely different buildings with two completely different doctors with two completely different purposes.”

Not in my local hospital, it has a psychiatric ward, and the beds are mostly taken up by alcoholics.

People drink to take away the pain of their emotions, so they self medicate themselves this way. But—- there is always an underlying problem on why they do it, and most of the time Dr.’s just want to treat the noticeable problem, which is drinking.

Question by Ghjg: Do I have the LEGAL right to Obtain Childhood Rehab Records?
As a teenager I was sent away by my parents to “recreational treatments centers” for behavioral issues not drugs, and they of course keep daily charts and reports on each kid, now that I am 18, can I request a copy of them from those centers? do they have to give it to me If I ask? I live in California, but the centers were in multiple states.

Thanks

Question by schenzy: Should singers be concerned about the message of their songs?
Two examples spring to mind….

1: Avril Levigne’s “Girlfriend” — the message seems to be… It’s a good thing to physically, verbally and psychologically abuse nerds… go out there a kick a nerd’s a*s and steal her boyfriend. It’s fun. (Teenage girls by the millions LOVE this song)

2: Amy Winehouse: “Rehab”… This song seems to say “Hey alcoholics and drug addicts, stay in denial that you are in control. Keep drinking and taking drugs. Don’t try to get help. ”
I’m sure so many people who desperately need help for their addiction problems might see this video and be empowered NOT to get help for their problem.

So the question remains… is it just the song or is it also the song and the message an artist must consider?

Xanax abuse is not only found with individuals taking the drug, but many are now crushing the drug in order to snort or mix with water and inject. This causes the high to be more intense. The body once a person begins with xanax abuse the need for more and more of drug to experience the same effect increases quickly. Once this has occurred the person is now physically, depend on the drug. Now, the xanax abuse has turned into an addiction, which will need medical help to quit.
