Loneliness is a natural emotion of all human beings. It is such a horrible feeling that no one wants to experience it even in his dreaded dream. It is so painful that a person going through it feels completely lost, as if something has crushed his spirit. A numb, persistent feeling of nothingness takes hold of him. A black, void space fills his heart giving him the feeling of totally devastation.

Loneliness is a curse in human life. Man, a social animal by nature, always wants to be surrounded by near and dear ones. Our beloveds provide us with a sense of identity, a feeling of protection. Having left alone, we know no one is there to give us support in our need, to praise us for the good job we do, to point out our mistakes and to help us to rectify ourselves by their meaningful suggestions. We feel a vacuum in our mind which is actually hunger, the hunger of love from our dear ones. This hunger, love, the psychological need of mind, must be fulfilled – otherwise loneliness occurs.

Loneliness may occur at any time, whether we are alone and even when we are in the company of others. It proves that we are not enjoying our company. Even the person who is much extrovert by nature may also feel lonely sometimes. Living isolated for sometime from others, missing someone very significant in life, break-up with dear-ones, mid-life crisis, old age trauma —so many causes are there for a person to suffer from it. Even success prosperity and wealth can bring loneliness. That is why it is said

But this is not the proper way to deal with life. Do not allow yourself to wallow in your loneliness. Get yourself occupied with different kinds of activities you find interesting, try to socialise, join an online community and do something positive to stimulate yourself.
